Civic Matters wove together the stories of three women, each with inspiring ambitions, as WomenLead gave them tools and connections they would need to succeed. We also interviewed business leaders who support the program. Civic Matters produced several videos targeted at different audiences and formats, including conferences, web, and social media.

This film explores the First Amendment right of the 'people peaceably to assemble' through the lens of the U.S. Supreme Court case National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie. The legal fight between neo-Nazis and Holocaust survivors over a planned march in a predominantly Jewish community led to a ruling that said the neo-Nazis could not be banned from marching peacefully because of the content of their message.

NewsFeed Defenders

Designed to help make sense of today’s chaotic media environment, NewsFeed Defenders is an online simulation that teaches players to detect and disregard disinformation and misinformation on the web — and resist clickbait, viral rumors, and biased sources.

This game immerses students in the workings of our three branches of government. Players take on the roles of legislator, president and Supreme Court justice to get constitutional laws enacted. Players juggle several bills at once while holding press conferences and town hall meetings.
